TruTone C9 Xmas bulb WITH Santa Hat Animation
Lack of lubrication i think is the cause
i have a 921051, and the dealer told me they weld a washer on the body the correct size to make the hole small again. like your idea, going to try it today, i bet!
Hi Ian, if you do, PLEASE let me know here, I'd love to see any video you want to post. Believe it or not, I still have that problem, but I have a second identical machine that is almost brand new, so I'm using that one right now. I wish I could weld... it opens up a world of opportunities !
Great video on how to cobble up a bad repair by someone who clearly doesn’t comprehend the actual problem! That shaft is NOT supposed to turn. Some idiot never greased the nipple.
I didn't know there was a grease fitting under all the dirt till the shift wore out the metal
Price
Yes
What am I watching
Chocolate chip cookie recipe LOL
I lost my quick release where I can buy ?
How much did this cost at the time?
*”Heat Miser”*
Where ya at boy
I just bought a 6 ton splitter from the tire on sale for $260.00, works the same way, by the way the only catch (pun intended) is if you try to split against the grain, that jams, now it makes sense to not do that but some logs have a grain going in both directions as the fork in between huge branches, it won't do those ones!
Its cool
Looks to me like you have some parts missing. I'd pull up a parts diagram and compare with on tbe diagram with your snowblower. (Ariens doesn't build snowblowers without a bearing or bushing supporting shaft ends. No manufacturer does).
I got one. Works great.
Frosty, you have a better back and knees than most of us. I am going to buy the stand or make one or use my picnic table at the cottage to be able to stand and use it comfortably.
Great video, thanx
I got a div7t pavilion. Comes with two drivers and a open slot so only one hard drive and I see I can install a second one. I dont know how too because the other I am looking directly on the motherboard, I know if I put a hard drive there it might get hot and over heat the bourd
I would just find an oversized heavy washer and welded on the outside and inside of that chassis
Im having issues with that black indention next to the screw on the rc 2 head....its not allowing my dslr to lock properly.
it s faster with pedal?
I need a part for a 5 ton CT 60 3800 4 wood splitter- Part # 60 Gear Pump cover- it is the pump and the mount for the electric motor- Any help would be great
Did the U Bolt work as a short term fix? We have a Nor'easter bearing down us tomorrow and there is no time to get the kit.
Hi John, it works *perfectly* I had it like this for many months using the snowblower, so it did eat away at the shaft, but using it for 1 or 2 storms, you won't notice it eating away. BTW, I found out that there is a kit for this, and that ARIENS was fully aware of this design flaw. There was an internal memo to ARIENS repair shops / authorized dealers about this. Info about that is on the snowblowerforum. ( on one of my topic/threads there ) So they have 2 kits available... one - if you have NO damage... you get that one, and the shops were instructed to add it on, while the blower was there for other maintenance..... and then a second kit - if damage has already been done to that hole ( going from circular to oval ) then the 2nd kit is used... and I'm guessing at a cost to the client. I knew from the get-go it was a design flaw, as I've done a lot of looking at my Home Depot at other machines, and all other models have a bushing that goes over that axle. Anyway, hope that helps ! .... that u-bolt will get the job done, and prevent damage to your gears.
Thank you
...1947 pickup truck?...
Did you have to clone the ssd drive first before you installed the ssd drive?
Handle should have been extended just a few inches for smoother sailing.
Wish my laptop had a secondary bay :( Very handy to have the SSD and Second Drive.
You see the grease fitting looks dry as a prairie fart. Have you bought this machine used or are you the original owner? The reason this shaft is tearing into the chassis is lack of lube the bushing is seized to the shaft turning in the housing not static like it should be. Lubrication between the shaft and the bushing would allow the bushing to remain static in the housing.I am a heavy truck mechanic and ignorance is how I pay my mortgage. Its called maintenance and this is a text book example.
I am the original owner. I have zero know-how on mechanical things like this. I just asked Donyboy73 ( youtube channel ) if he has a video on how to do what you are suggesting. - I'm assuming you are talking about what looks like a nipple right on the end of that shaft that is giving me troubles.... so a grease gun would be attached to that, and then pump pump away until you see grease coming out of the shaft somewhere ? I had NO clue there was even a bearing there. On any diagram I've seen, I cannot locate this bushing. Believe it or not, I have a 2nd identical machine I got from my father, it has maybe an hour on it.... it's also 8 years old but brand new, he used it maybe 4 times. ( it sat in his garage for 5 years, and I got it last year where it sat in my garage ) I guess my best bet is to flip it over and examine it.
BTW, yesterday, I was using this newer machine I got from my dad ( same model ) and I really looked closely and cannot see any type of bearing or bushing on the shaft. I guess I *must* open the machine up ( remove the bottom cover to really tell ) but from the outside - I cannot see any bushing. It looks like that shaft is just sticking out of the body, through that hole in the body.
Hi Jason, are the fittings on grease guns pretty much standard for the most part ? so if I pick up a grease gun will the included nipple adapter/coupler that attaches to the nipple fit ? or do I need to find out the size of grease nipple beforehand ? thank you
Grease gun fitting are for the most part common. The one you have at the end of the shaft is a standard ZERK fitting, so a grease gun from walmart or your local hardware store will work. You may need to remove the tire to get to it depending on the type of grease gun wand you have (rigid or flexible) . NOTE: Better read up on loading a grease gun!! The actual bearings, rather bushings for the chain driven pinion gear are in the gear itself, at least as shown in my machines parts diagram. That's why it needs grease. the shaft it rides on is semi-hollow to allow grease to feed to the bushings through the grease nipple. (aka. cross drilled) Everyone is correct, the shaft shouldn't have turned.. soft metal to metal moving contact without lubrication and formed surfaces will wear out exactly like you have seen. good news is that it's all fixable. Discard all your fix attempts as they will not work long term and will cause additional part damage.
Its not a design flaw its a maintenance issue. The shaft is not suppose the turn that's what caused the wear. The anti rotation tab or pin must be missing causing the shaft to spin.
Hi there, thanks for that info. Do you by chance know anywhere I can get part numbers for that pin ? I tried looking on several sites and can't find it. Somebody told me there is also a bushing on that shaft ( where it is wearing out the body of the blower ) .... I have look at the diagram for this snowblower and don't see that listed as one of the parts.
roll pin 05800900 anti-rotation tab 00503500 bolt for tab 07400034 There is no bushing because the shafts not suppose to spin. They make a plate you can bolt on the frame # 00951859. you will have to drill the holes for it.
Wow..... you really know your stuff. How you found all that info out, amazing. I could not find any diagram on any of those online part stores or online Aries snowblower manuals. Thank you very much !! ( and I had no clue the axle was not suppose to spin - I'm going to have to look super carefully and see exactly where that roll pin goes... I could not see a hole ( I'm guessing the pin broke off and has rusted over so it looks like part of the axle now ) Thanks very much for taking the time out of your day to help me !
apache.ariens.com/manuals/B-2029.pdf Take a look, There may be hope! Roll pin/Haior pin would be on the outside of the chassis.
Good morning t JRick ! - wow ! that link you gave me is worth its weight in gold ! That looks like it was an internal memo to all Ariens authorized dealers ! That there is EXACTLY what happened to me, and this also proves that Ariens knew full well of this problem. As a registered owner of 2 of these Ariens snowblowers, I was never informed by email or regular carrier mail that there was a "recall" on that part. I did some fast checking and it seems that will cost me about $50 or so for this kit. It does seem this kit not only includes a metal bar that you would attach with bolts on the frame of the snowblower, but also includes a new gear and gear axle. ( not sure about this, but it looks that way ) - how they can give you all those parts for $50 is strange... pretty sure just that gear alone would be more than that $$. Amazing info you gave me there, I am beyond appreciative for it ! - wow... still amazed. I'll guaranteed you that not many owners know that kit even exists. THANK you again T JRick !
HI Mark, when this happens I usually weld a thick washer that fits perfectly on that shaft to secure it. You can also weld a plate and drill a hole through it
Hi Dony ! thanks for replying ! I appreciate it ! --- when u say weld a thick washer, do you mean you weld this directly onto the axle itself ? or to the frame ?
to the frame so the shaft sits in it
ah ok ! Thanks Dony ! ... just so happens I'm watching your latest video on changing the drive cable on a snowblower. Good stuff ! btw, have you EVER seen the type of problem I have here on my Ariens ? I did do a lot of snowblowing with this machine, and something tells me doing a lot of harder snow is what caused this problem - putting a lot more stress on that area..... but I never abused the machine. I'm surprised that I cannot find another video of this problem... really surprised.
You also brought up a good point about welding a plate... I do not have access to a welder...do you think drilling a few bolts to the side would work ? ... so get a plate, drill a hole for the axle, then position that... clamp it onto the body and now drill holes on the plate and through the frame and then attach it with some bolts.... would that work ? .... I can't think of any other solution.... without welding it....
yes that would work
Hi,can you explain to me where I can find connecting cable for the second hdd? I have everything else, screw, mounting piece. Just the cable I need. Thanks
Excellent description Well done!
i have the 4 ton splitter, but it does not push as far as i would like it to. Where is the limiter on this model?
Thank you so much for showing this. I was pulling my hair try to figure out how to attach the SideKick360+ to my tripod.
Here it is nine years later and I still go back to this video thanks frosty
how has the log splitter been to date and can you do a follow up vid and how to maintain it and store it thanks mine tends to go slow on the return
ou Je peux avoir Cette machine
i have alienware m17x r3 with 2 hdd but only one of them is showing up
Can I install a new hdd to a hp omen 15 ax009no laptop that has one 512gb m2 ssd. I think there is a free spot for a hdd but idk and is it hard to install it.
I purchased the Me Foto about a year and a halve ago. Believe it or not, I HAVE NOT UNBOXED IT! Many personal reasons, plus the fact that I packed everything and moved into a better, brand new studio. I plan to use it a lot, for time lapse shots and for video clips with my I-phone 6. Do you have any video where i can see the results you have gotten with it? I would be grateful if you shared. I could share my videos with you as well. Thanks for this video!
I have Acer E-521-0865. what it does it starts then goes automatic repair. Then restarts. again and keeps doing this over and over. What seems to be the problem?
Just bought this splitter and it is fantastic. What's really handy about it is the two speed lever; you can go fast or slow. It cranks through maple with twisted grain...and you can even purchase the 4 way splitter attachment that simply drops over the two way...no tools!
VERY NICE.
is changing hdd like changing ram just replace no fancy shit to do after like format the whole laptop and reinstall os
stranger is so cold because it's so nice and Kingston!!
I've noticed some hard drives have a thin metal sheet covering them as well. What is this sheet called and is it necessary if your laptop had one to begin with (I'm talking about a Lenovo ThinkPad and the metal sheet is lost)?
120 GB isnt that much....
Emerald Beast Gaming nope but he probably did it as a boot drive
great tutorial but dude, that is one monster of a laptop
Water and yeast - OK - but then you put in about 4-5 different things before adding the flour. One of them will be salt but what are the other things you add before the flour?
AndyPanda9 sugar
what type of wood is that? It makes a difference
What kind of difference ? in what way ?
FrostyTheBeerMan some woods are much harder. Hemlock will split much easier than Arbutus for example
I have mostly maple. I'd love to see a test using it.
